I choose to tell stories that are based in truth.

Embracing a directorial approach rooted in the rich musical traditions of the African-American church, I pay homage to authenticity within every line. My artistic focus revolves around cinematic storytelling through the unique lens of the Black female perspective, serving as a sonic-soundscape artist, director, and producer in both theatre and film.

My selection of material defies a specific pattern, yet each narrative I choose is deeply rooted in truth, echoing the diasporic experience. From the evocative darkness of "Hey God" (Sebastian Kole) to the acclaimed production of "Choir Boy" by Tarell Alvin McCraney at the Birmingham Black Repertory Theatre, I strive to bring forth artistic experiences that authentically depict the complexity of human existence. Regardless of the medium, my work stands as a testament to the convergence of realistic humanity and high-stakes artistic achievement.
